PsychicOz and California Psychics both run affiliate programmes for publishers who write about psychic readings. They are very different offers to promote, and the two programmes publish very different amounts of information about what an affiliate actually earns.
This comparison sets out what each programme states on its own pages, what you cannot find out without applying, how the two customer offers shape conversion, and which kinds of traffic each one suits. Every figure below was checked against the programme’s own site on 25 September 2026; terms change without notice, so confirm them at source before you rely on them.
Quick Guide: The Short Answer
- PsychicOz publishes its full terms. $175 per qualifying new client, a $101 spend threshold, a 180-day cookie, monthly PayPal payments and worldwide traffic accepted.
- California Psychics does not publish a rate. Its affiliate page promises “competitive compensation”, monthly commission payments and a dedicated affiliate manager, with the detail held inside the Impact network after approval.
- PsychicOz is the easier programme to plan around, because you can forecast against a known number.
- California Psychics brings a stronger consumer brand and a heavily advertised screening story (it states that only 2 in 100 applicant psychics are accepted), which can help conversion with readers who already know the name.
- The customer offer decides more than the commission. Both services lead with a free-minutes introduction, but the formats, prices and paths to first payment differ.
- Apply to both if you qualify. Joining costs nothing, and it is the only way to see the terms California Psychics keeps private.

Why the Customer Offer Matters More Than the Rate
Affiliates are paid when a referred visitor becomes a paying customer, so everything that happens after the click sits between you and the commission. Two programmes with identical rates can produce very different earnings if one service converts new visitors more smoothly than the other.
The things worth weighing, in rough order of impact:
- The first offer a visitor sees. Free minutes, a low introductory rate, a guarantee. A clear first step reduces hesitation.
- Format match. A reader who arrived from an article about chat readings is less likely to convert on a phone-first service, and vice versa.
- Price transparency. Visitors who can see what a reading costs before registering abandon less often.
- Trust evidence. Screening claims, review volume and guarantees all lower perceived risk.
- Mobile path. Most psychic-reading traffic is on phones; a registration flow that works badly on a small screen loses conversions you never see in a report.
- The qualifying bar. A commission paid on the first paid session converts more referrals than one paid after a spend threshold, even if the latter pays more per approval.
From Click to Commission: Where the Two Programmes Differ
The same journey, two different sets of published rules
Pricing and Commission, Worked Through
PsychicOz
The published structure is simple: a referred visitor who becomes a new client and spends at least $101 within the 180-day window earns you a one-time $175 commission. Ten qualifying clients in a month is $1,750; the minimum payout is a single approved referral, and payment goes out by PayPal at the start of the following month.
The trade-off is the qualifying bar. A visitor who registers, uses the free minutes and spends $40 is a customer for PsychicOz but not a commission for you. The programme is best suited to content that reaches people preparing to book a proper reading rather than people trying one out of curiosity.
California Psychics
The consumer offer is generous at the front: 15 free minutes for new customers and a satisfaction guarantee, which is a strong first step for readers who have never paid for a reading. What is missing is any published detail on what an affiliate earns, what the customer must do to qualify, or how long attribution lasts. The affiliate page directs applicants into the Impact network, where those terms are shown after approval.
That is not unusual, and it is not a criticism. It does mean you cannot compare the two on paper. You can only apply, read the terms, and then compare.
Screening and Trust Signals
Both services make advisor screening part of their pitch, which matters to affiliates because it is one of the strongest trust signals a first-time customer looks for.
PsychicOz
The programme’s own pages describe a multi-step screening process before an advisor is listed, along with customer ratings and feedback on each profile. The advisor network is curated rather than open, so the directory is smaller than a large marketplace.
California Psychics
The homepage states that only 2 out of every 100 applicant psychics are accepted, and the brand has run on that claim for years. It is one of the most recognised names in the U.S. market, which helps conversion with readers who search for the brand directly.
When you write about screening, quote each company’s own wording and link to it rather than restating it as fact. Google’s guidance on helpful, people-first content rewards reviews that show evidence, and it protects you if a claim changes.
Reading Customer Reviews Usefully
Public reviews of psychic services follow a predictable pattern, and it is worth knowing before you promote either brand. Positive reviews tend to praise an individual advisor, ease of connecting, and clear pricing. Negative reviews tend to concern not connecting with the first advisor chosen, expectations about what a reading can deliver, and total cost once free minutes run out.
None of that is specific to PsychicOz or California Psychics; it is the shape of the category. For your content, the practical lesson is to set expectations honestly, explain what the free minutes do and do not cover, and point readers to advisor profiles and ratings. Content that does this converts better over time and generates fewer refunds, which also means fewer reversed commissions.
A Practical Earnings Example
The figures below are illustrative arithmetic, not a forecast or a claim about either programme’s performance. Assume 2,000 referred visitors in a month.
| Scenario | Qualified conversion rate | Commission per approval | Approved referrals | Monthly revenue | Revenue per click |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PsychicOz, published rate | 1.0% | $175 | 20 | $3,500 | $1.75 |
| Hypothetical programme paying $100 | 1.5% | $100 | 30 | $3,000 | $1.50 |
| Hypothetical programme paying $100 | 2.0% | $100 | 40 | $4,000 | $2.00 |
The point of the table is the last column. A programme with a lower rate overtakes a higher one as soon as its conversion rate is roughly 75 percent higher, and the only way to know your conversion rate is to send traffic and measure it.
Track that figure separately for each programme, over at least one full attribution cycle, and let it decide where each page on your site links.
Who Should Choose Which
PsychicOz suits you if…

- Your traffic is search-driven and readers take weeks to decide, so a 180-day window matters
- You promote to an international audience
- Your readers are comparing services and preparing to book, not just browsing
- You prefer PayPal and a low minimum payout
California Psychics suits you if…

How to Present Either Programme Honestly
Whichever you promote, U.S. rules require a clear disclosure whenever you have a material connection to the company, and readers respond better to it than most publishers expect. The FTC’s endorsement guidance sets out what counts as adequate, and it is a short read. Put the disclosure near the top, mark affiliate links with rel="sponsored", and quote programme terms with a date.
Key Takeaways
- PsychicOz publishes $175 per qualifying new client, a $101 threshold, a 180-day cookie and monthly PayPal payments; California Psychics publishes none of those figures.
- A published rate is a planning advantage, not proof of higher earnings.
- California Psychics offers a stronger consumer brand, 15 free minutes and a well-known screening claim, which can lift conversion with U.S. readers.
- PsychicOz offers four reading formats and worldwide acceptance, which widens the content you can write and the traffic you can send.
- Revenue per click, measured over a full attribution cycle, decides the comparison; the headline rate does not.
- Apply to both, read the private terms, and match each page on your site to the service that fits its readers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which pays more, PsychicOz or California Psychics?
PsychicOz publishes a fixed $175 per qualifying new client. California Psychics does not publish a commission figure, so a like-for-like comparison is not possible from public information. Apply to both and compare approved revenue per click on your own traffic.
What does a referred client have to do for PsychicOz to pay $175?
Be a new client and spend at least $101 within the 180-day attribution window. The commission is a one-time payment per qualifying client.
How long is the PsychicOz cookie?
180 days, according to the programme’s own pages and FAQ.
Does California Psychics publish its cookie duration?
No. Neither the affiliate page nor the public help centre states an attribution window. The detail is available inside the Impact network after your application is approved.
How are affiliates paid?
PsychicOz pays monthly by PayPal, at the beginning of the month for the previous month’s approved commissions. California Psychics states monthly commission payments; the method is shown in the network after approval.
What is the minimum payout?
PsychicOz’s FAQ gives $175, which equals one approved referral. California Psychics does not publish a minimum.
Does either programme accept international traffic?
PsychicOz states that it accepts worldwide traffic and pays in U.S. dollars. California Psychics does not publish a geographic policy on its affiliate page.
What do new customers get on each service?
PsychicOz advertises the first 3 minutes free for new customers and an introductory per-minute rate on its homepage. California Psychics advertises 15 free minutes for new customers and a “Life-Changing or FREE” guarantee.
Which reading formats does each service offer?
PsychicOz offers phone, chat, video and email readings. California Psychics offers phone and chat, plus a mobile app.
Is a higher commission always better?
No. Revenue per click depends on the commission multiplied by the qualified conversion rate. A lower rate with a higher conversion rate can earn more.
Can I join both programmes?
Usually yes. Neither programme’s public terms prohibit membership of competing programmes, but check each agreement when you apply.
Which programme is easier to forecast?
PsychicOz, because the commission, threshold, cookie and payment terms are all published. You can model expected revenue before writing a single article.
Do I need a website to apply?
PsychicOz’s FAQ says you need a website and a valid email for PayPal payments. California Psychics asks for a description of your website and promotional methods on its application form.
Can I use paid search to promote either programme?
The PsychicOz FAQ says affiliates may not use its brand names as pay-per-click keywords. California Psychics’ traffic rules are set out in the Impact programme terms after approval. Read both before running paid traffic.
How should I disclose the affiliate relationship?
Place a clear, plain-language disclosure near the top of any page containing affiliate links, and mark those links with rel=”sponsored”. This is required by the FTC in the U.S. and by comparable rules elsewhere.
What is a qualified conversion rate?
The share of unique clicks that become approved, commission-paying referrals. It is lower than the registration rate because not every registered user reaches the qualifying condition.
How long should I test before deciding?
At least one full attribution cycle for the longer window, which means several months rather than weeks. Judging a 180-day programme after three weeks understates it badly.
Which programme suits first-time psychic customers?
California Psychics’ 15 free minutes and guarantee lower the barrier for readers who have never paid for a reading. PsychicOz’s $101 threshold suits readers who are already planning a full-length reading.
Which suits an international audience?
PsychicOz, which states that it accepts worldwide traffic. California Psychics’ geographic policy is not published.
Do these terms change?
Yes, often without notice. Every figure in this article was checked on 25 September 2026. Confirm current terms on each programme’s own pages before you rely on them.
Final Recommendation
PsychicOz is the programme to start with if you want to plan. The $175 commission, $101 threshold, 180-day cookie, PayPal payments and worldwide acceptance are all published, which means you can build a content plan around real numbers and check your results against them. That is why it heads this comparison. Some links on this page are affiliate links, which you should keep in mind.
California Psychics is worth applying to alongside it if your readers are in the United States and recognise the brand. The consumer offer is strong, the screening claim is persuasive, and an affiliate manager is a real advantage for a growing site. The unpublished terms are a reason to apply and read, not a reason to dismiss it.
Run both, measure approved revenue per click for each, and let the pages on your site link to whichever service fits their readers. For a broader view of the category, see our comparison of PsychicOz and Kasamba and our guide to which psychic affiliate programme converts best.
